Our HIV Screening Campaign among Teen Mothers Who are on our Program working closely with Our Implementing Partner Mild May Uganda.
TMRHP has developed strong community partnerships in Luwero, Nakaseke and Nakasongola districts in Uganda. We have worked with over 40 schools, 30 clinics, local leaders and other community based organizations. In addition, we have worked closely with our implementing partner Mild May Uganda in areas of Hiv testing and counseling among Teen Mothers on our Program. Girls are faced with a number of challenges in transition from childhood into Adulthood, they are faced with limited social support, opportunities for education and employment which elevates their vulnerability to poverty, teenage pregnancy, poor mental health and increased risk behaviors exposing them to HIV/AIDS. In our HIV screening campaign among these Teen mothers, we aim at letting these young Adults know their HIV status early enough.

For these who are found HIV positive, are helped to enroll on life saving drugs (ARVS),we also do prevention from mother to child transmission and HIV counseling in collaboration with Mild May and health facilities. These collaborations have fostered local trust, Teen mothers, families, community members, as well as local and national leaders. TMRHP has also developed partnerships with local and national government officials and agencies, including ministry of gender, labour and social Development, ministry of education and sports and ministry of Health. Our interventions aim to inform national and local evidence-based policies for at-risk and vulnerable girls/Teen mothers in Uganda and beyond.
